Oracle and SAP enjoy a long game of one-upping one another, but their rivalry in Cloud offerings has plateaued to what is essentially a Cloud Cold War. Whatever the vendors offer, organisations are hesitant to move, so neither of them can ‘win.’
Meanwhile, organisations can remain neutral to the vendors’ rivalry, save money on support costs, and still get the benefits of the Cloud without the hassle.
With recent new stories of Oracle trying, and failing, to steal some of SAP’s bigger customers, we question Oracle’s motives. Does the vendor honestly believe it can offer a product better than SAP; or is Oracle more interested in adding points on the scoreboard?
