How we support:
IBM DB2

IBM DB2 overview

IBM’s DB2 is a database server product. The latest version, 11.5, utilises artificial intelligence features such as machine learning-based (ML) optimiser and Augmented Data Explorer (ADE) and runs on most operating systems and Cloud systems.

The latest version is built on data-skipping technology, which means it’s much faster and can manage a large amount of data.

The Task Scheduler is an excellent feature of this database, allowing you to run multiple jobs simultaneously.

Common problems with IBM DB2

As with most databases of this size, DB2 is unaffordable for most small to medium-sized businesses.

For larger organisations, the biggest problem is that third-party applications are needed for most requirements. They then have to upgrade those applications and use the DB2 versions mandated by the suppliers, and end up with multiple DB2 versions across their estate.
