If you use SAP’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, and you’re not using SAP S/4HANA, then you’re on a deadline. A deadline that was recently extended from 2025 to 2027 – with additional options until 2030. Nevertheless, the clock is ticking.
SAP is using their deadline to move customers onto SAP S/4HANA in an attempt to force adoption of their new Cloud platform. They are trying to enforce this by stopping support for all of their old products in 2027.
But what if you’re happy with your current SAP setup and don’t want to move? Or you’re not yet convinced by SAP’s Cloud? What advice is there?
SAP may tell you there are no other options, while Oracle and the other ERP vendors may tell you to move to their Cloud solutions. But what if you’re happy with what you have?
And perhaps you want to do nothing for now, but simply wait and see what happens?
The fact is, there is very little information available on your options.
